Full Moon? Think Parasite 🪱 cleanse!

What are intestinal parasites? The major global contributors to intestinal parasites are: Ascaris, Entamoeba, Toxoplasma, Cyclospora, Giardia, and Cryptosporidium. A common example is hookworks or pinworms.

How do they spread? The main cause of direct transmission is by close contact- the fecal-oral route, with hands spreading a lot of the eggs. Indirectly parasites can spread by surfaces or food. Parasites have even been found in household dust! Raw or lightly cooked vegetables and fruit can also be risk factor for parasites associated with gastroenteritis. Your spinach salad could be carrying some parasite eggs on them!

What is the big deal about parasite infections?

Deficiencies in vitamins A, B6, B12 and minerals such as iron, calcium and magnesium can occur from a parasitic infection. This can lead to malnutrition and affect growth, being undetected for years Infections can also block nutrient absorption and negativity affect the immune system.

What do you do about the parasites?

When doing a parasite cleanse, it’s also very important to have a binder to support the detoxification and binding of the parasites that are killed. Gut support is also very helpful in this protocol.

Why during the full moon?

Parasites are thought to be modulated by melatonin. When there is a full moon and light at night parasites would become more active and possibly more susceptible to cleanses.

Since we are exposed to parasites on a regular basis via contaminated food or animals. It's a good idea to try a parasite cleanse 1-2 times a year.

First, check with your doctor and make sure you are able to.

Second, make sure you have healthy detoxification pathways.

What does this mean? Are you having a bowel movement at least once a day? Do you sweat?
